Grebes are fascinating and gorgeous little water birds with lobed feet. Alice came into care uninjured weighing only 86 grams. She would need a short stay in care until she was big enough to be released back into her natural habitat.
Alice needed a special carer with a spare bathtub and a good supply of mealworms! Alice was provided an island with a hot water bottle and some pond slime to fossick through for a bit of fun.
Eventually, Alice was big enough to be released at a whopping 165 grams! She was released in a beautiful big pond with perfect conditions for a grebe. She immediately found a grebe friend who took her on a tour of the pond showing her the best spots to find creepy crawly critters to snack on.
