About the event

The Wildcare Orientation and Basic Rescue Course (OBRC) is primarily pitched at Wildcare members volunteering to be active native-wildlife rescuers but also covers supporting Wildcare in other ways. The course is based on attendees having read Wildcare SOP562, Orientation to Wildcare, issued to new members during their membership induction and having completed the online Wildcare Frameworks course.

The OBRC is mandatory for new members seeking to be authorised as active rescuers unless an exemption is approved by Wildcare’s management committee. Completion of the course is also a pre-requisite for further training in native wildlife rehabilitation.
