For over 30 years, Wildcare has been rescuing injured, sick and orphaned native animals in Queanbeyan and surrounding regions. These native animals are raised and rehabilitated so they can be released back into their natural habitat.
Each year, the majority of calls to Wildcare are for birds needing our help. This ranges from tiny Yellow Thornbills to Wedge-tailed Eagles.
From possums and gliders to koalas and microbats, there is a diverse range of native small mammals in our region.
Macropods, including kangaroos and wallabies, are a diverse family of marsupials.
From slithering snakes to sun-loving lizards and elusive turtles, the Queanbeyan and surrounding regions boast a range of native reptiles.
Wombats are a prominent and cherished part of our region's wildlife, with unique burrowing habits and endearing appearance.
